Office Policies
Reasons for a No Kids under 12 Policy:
1. Patient Privacy and Focus: Some medical appointments require concentration and privacy. Children may unintentionally cause distractions.
2. Safety Concerns: Medical offices may have sharp instruments, medications, or other hazards that could pose risks to children.
3. Infection Control: In environments where patients are immunocompromised or at higher risk of infection, having children in the office could introduce unnecessary risks.
4. Minimizing Noise: Medical offices are often places where patients are anxious or dealing with sensitive issues. A quieter environment can help maintain a calm atmosphere.
No pets
Only certified service animals are allowed with proper documentation
No Recording Policy During Ultrasound Appointments
We are committed to providing the highest standard of care and ensuring a comfortable and safe environment for all of our patients. To maintain the integrity and privacy of our medical procedures, recording of any kind is not permitted during ultrasound examinations. This includes, but is not limited to, video recordings, audio recordings, and still photography on any device, such as smartphones or cameras.
Reasons for this Policy:
1. Patient Privacy: The ultrasound room is a private space where sensitive medical information may be shared. Recording could inadvertently capture personal or confidential information.
2. Ultrasound Focus: Sonographers and physicians need to concentrate fully to perform accurate and thorough examinations. Recording may cause distractions or interruptions.
3. Legal and Ethical Standards: Recording in medical settings without proper authorization may violate privacy laws and ethical guidelines.
We understand that patients may want to preserve memories from their ultrasound. As an alternative, we do send a link of the patient’s ultrasound assessment to patient’s email and phone as a text message. The link can be downloaded within 90 days before the link expires.
We appreciate your understanding and cooperation in ensuring a respectful and professional medical environment for all.
Appointment delays
We Strive to see all our patients on time. However, due to the nature of our practice, unexpected situations may occasionally cause delays. We appreciate your understanding and patience as our physicians and medical staff attend to these matters.
Please be advised that our front office staff, receptionists and billers, as well as our back office staff, sonographers and medical assistants, are following instructions from the administrator physician(s), so we firmly request that all patients and family members treat our staff with the utmost respect and not challenge them regarding our policies. Our staff, as well, is required and expected to treat all patients and their families with the utmost respect and provide you with the aforementioned policy. Should any of our staff treat you with disrespect, or should you have any questions regarding our policies, please advise our office manager Anu Jairam (Anu@hiriskob.com)
3D/4D Imaging Policy
Our dedicated team of sonographers and healthcare professionals are committed to providing unparalleled maternal-fetal ultrasound services, ensuring the highest standard of care for expecting families.
Three-dimensional (3D) ultrasound is a medical ultrasound technique that has been used during pregnancy for over 15 years to improve the diagnostic rates of abnormalities involving the fetal brain, fetal face, fetal palate, and skeletal system to include the vertebrae and ribs. All of the ultrasound units in our office are equipped to perform 3 D, and 4 D (real time 3 D), imaging.
Currently, no insurance company considers 3D imaging as medically necessary, with rare exception. We recommend the use of 3 D imaging at each of your three main fetal structural ultrasound visits: 11-13 weeks, 16-22 weeks, and 28-34 weeks. We therefore change $ 50.00 at each of the three fetal structural ultrasounds, FOR 3 D IMAGING SO THAT WE CAN EVALUATE THE ANATOMY OF THE FETAL BRAIN, FACE, PALATE, AND SKELETAL SYSTEM AND ANY ABNORMALITY IF ONE IS NOTED.
Please be advised that 3 D IMAGING use during pregnancy in our office IS NOT to secure a cute baby face shot for you. Please be advised that the sonographers will attempt to take a fetal face picture for your family album at any and all of your visits in our office if the fetal position permits. These pictures will most of the time be a combination of 2D and 3D/4D images, and they are all done as a courtesy to you.
Our office offers all women a detailed ultrasound assessment of the pregnancy in each trimester. At each visit the ultrasound images (all 2D/3D and 4D images) will be emailed to you as small video clips and still images. You will receive a link as a text message as well as an email which will allow you to download and save the files on to your computer. Please note that the images are available for download for 90 days. Please make sure you provide our staff with your email address as well as your cell phone number.
If you have any questions regarding our office’s PICTURES policies, please do not hesitate to ask any of our ultrasound Technologists or physicians.
